IAI Colloquium
Philosophy of Engineering
Anthony Ephremides Distinguished University Professor Cynthia Kim Eminent Professor of Information Technology Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Institute for Systems Research University of Maryland
Abstract This presentation is a summary (almost an outline) of the intended content in a course on Philosophy of Engineering (ENEE 498P) that I proposed for this semester, that was finally not offered. It may be offered in the future. It describes the main topics that constitute the emerging new discipline of Philosophy of Engineering. Although it shares some ground with the established discipline of Philosophy of Science and the, also emerging, one of Philosophy of Technology, it contains unique, thought provoking aspects of our Profession. The intent is to have more of a discussion than a formal presentation.
This Event is For: Graduate • Undergraduate • Faculty • Post-Docs
