The University System of Maryland’s Board of Regents has selected Professor Michel Cukier, professor of reliability engineering. to receive a 2023 USM Regents Faculty Award for Excellence in Mentoring.

The awards are the highest honors that the Board bestows to recognize exemplary faculty achievement. 

Cukier first joined the University of Maryland in 2001 as an assistant professor. His research covers dependability and security issues. He has published more than 90 papers in journals and refereed conference proceedings in those areas. Highly engaged in teaching and mentoring as well as research, Cukier directs the Advanced Cybersecurity Experience for Students.
