Mechanical Engineering staff member D.B. Galpoththawela has established a development fund in cooperation with the Department of Public Trustee of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

?This is a lifelong vision,? says D.B.. ?My mission is to give something back to the community, especially in the memory of my parents and grandparents.?

The ?D.B. Galpoththawela Fund? will grant annual cash awards to the Best All-Around Students of Trinity and Dharmaraja colleges in Kandy, and the Galagedara Central College and Medawela Central College of Harispaththu.

D.B. will also make annual contributions to Uggaloagoda, Medawela, Dodangaslanda and Galkotuwa Buddhist temples during the annual Vesak celebrations in memory of his parents and grandparents.
