The Fall 2011 Whiting-Turner Business & Entrepreneurial Lecture Series kicks off at 5 p.m. on October 6 with alumnus Ramit Varma's talk "Lessons from a Bootstrapped Entrepreneur." The lecture will be webcast.

Varma (B.S. '96, electrical engineering) is the co-founder of Revolution Prep. The company offers online SAT prep, private, online and in-person tutoring, exit exam preparation, and instructional technologies in the areas of mathematics and English-language arts.

On October 20, Jenny Regan, CEO of KeyTech, will speak as part of the 2011 Fischell Festival of Bioengineering. Her Whiting-Turner lecture is titled "Homeward Bound: Medical Devices as Home Appliances." Key Tech is a high-tech product design and applied research prototyping company located in Baltimore.

Both lectures take place in the Kim Building Lecture Hall and will be preceded by a reception with refreshments outside the lecture hall at 4:30 p.m. Students are welcome to attend both lectures.
