An anonymous donor has created the Hillman Emergency Loan Project (HELP), a fund to support students in the Hillman Entrepreneurs Program with immediate financial need. The fund was created with a gift of $25,000.

The HELP fund will provide last-resort emergency assistance to Hillman students. The fund will be administered by the Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute (Mtech), which also manages the Hillman Entrepreneurs Program. Students demonstrating immediate financial need will be eligible for zero-interest loans.

"The Hillman students are incredibly hard working and resourceful, but even the best laid plans sometimes are disrupted by unforeseen events," said David Barbe, Mtech executive director. "This fund will help bridge those gaps, and hopefully help keep them on their steady path toward commencement and their entrepreneurial careers."
