Professor Don DeVoe was promoted to senior editor this year with the Journal of Microelectromechanical Systems  (J.MEMS).  He originally began contributing to the journal as an associate editor in 2006.

JMEMS began as a quarterly publication in March 1992, and has been published bimonthly since 2002.  It is sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers ((IEEE) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers  (ASME).  JMEMS publishes papers on topics such as micromechanics, microdynamical systems, microfabrication technologies useful for MEMS, and modeling and design issues for MEMS.  Papers are pre-screened by the editor-in-chief and then reviewed by two people chosen by the editor, who oversees this process.  Dr. DeVoe?s promotion is significant because senior editors are sometimes given the additional responsibility of pre-screening selected papers and thus determining which papers appear in JMEMS.

Dr. DeVoe has been a professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering since 1997.

For information about how to submit your paper to JMEMS visit their  manuscript website.
