Dr. Yunho Hwang, Associate Director and Research Professor with the Center for Environmental Energy Engineering (CEEE), will be hosting the new webinar ?CO2 Transcritical Cycle: Fundamentals and Current Status? on Friday, May 11, 2012.   The faculty and students at the center are renowned for their research on heating and air-conditioning technology.  Dr. Hwang, a subject matter expert in the study of using CO2 as an alternative refrigerant, will explain the relevance of the transcritical cycle.

CO2 systems are emerging in various sectors such as heat pump water heaters, automotive air conditioners, vending machines, and commercial/industrial refrigeration. This workshop will provide fundamentals of the transcritical CO2 cycle, efficiency enhancing cycle options and its component and system development status as the results from various research programs.  The main topics will include: Basics of CO2 Transcritical Cycle, Cycle Options, and Components and System Development Status.

There is no charge for CEEE consortium members; $100 for all others.  The funds generated from this webinar will be administered by the University of Maryland Foundation for the benefit of the Center of Environmental Energy Engineering.
