Clark School mechanical engineering professors Peter Sandborn and Michael Pecht have co-authored a book with two other colleagues -- Strategies to the Prediction, Mitigation, and Management of Product Obsolescence (Wiley).

The book covers obsolescence forecasting methodologies for hardware and software; provides case studies illustrating different applications of obsolescence forecasting; discusses all phases of a component’s lifecycle; and obsolescence management standards and organizations.

Michael Pecht is director for the Clark School's Center for Advanced Life Cycle Engineering and was the Clark School's 2011 Innovation Hall of Fame Inductee. Sandborn is a associate chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
