The Institute of Higher Education and Center for World-Class Universities has ranked the Clark School 14th in the world among all engineering programs for 2009 in its Academic Ranking of World Universities.

The institute, a unit of Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China, based the rankings on engineering-related research expenditures, highly cited researchers, the number of articles indexed in Science Citation Index - Expanded and the percentage of papers published in top 20 percent of engineering journals. In this last category, the Clark School scored 82 out of a possible 100 points.

"This institute's rankings offer both a world-wide scope and a more data-driven approach than other rankings," noted Clark School Dean Darryll Pines. "Ultimately they reflect the outstanding work performed by our faculty, staff and students."

More information about the rankings can be found at the institute's web site.
